1.a. The reason for me re creating this piece was because it was my favorite thing that I've drawn this semester. I was pushed for time and was never able to finish so I had the easy choice of recreating it and improving upon it. Multiple things have changed from the original picture and that is the background and the attire of the character in the foreground. To improve the characters looks I used various shading techniques with the colored pencils. I used these techniques while thinking back to when we learned these colored pencil shading techniques and how certain colors overlap each other to cause a shading effect which is how I detailed Squidward's head and the grass. The rest of the colors I thought that I would just use solid colors and maybe color in harder in certain areas. 1.b. The difference between these two works show that I have improved in my skill to make art. The difference between these two images show that I've learned different techniques throughout this semester. These techniques include proportion, shading, texture, and etc. As for art making as a whole I have improved because in recent works I have been able to take multiple things I have learned and applied to my pictures. 2.a. Artists document human experiences through their artwork by taking their personal life experiences and symbolizing them and putting it down on a canvas. I have personally portrayed the idea of the struggles of many high schoolers, which is grades. In this pieces I draw a letter F beating up a brain which is a symbol for grades pounding down stress into your brain which is a common human experience throughout the world. I have definitely had these experienced this in my life which is why I decided to express it in my work. 2.b. In this class I have made art that is shown to represent a human experience. The image I made showed a buffed up and personified F beating up a small and weak brain. This a symbol for grades stressing out your brain. Many people around the world has had this universal experience of stressing out when getting a poor grade in school. I have personally felt this experience in my life many times which is why I chose to draw about this.

1. The picture I made for my identity project shows the idea of how grades in school will overwhelm your mind with stress. I made this picture by sketching a drawing in my sketchbook and then sketching it again as the outline for the picture. I then started to fill the the picture in with markers. What inspired me for this drawing was the thoughts of my previous struggles of school and how others can relate.
2. In my work I would like for people to notice how the F is beating up a brain. I would in particular like people to notice that the F symbolizes grades and the brain symbolizes your mind. 3. I believe that my artwork ended up very successful. I think this because I think that people who would see this will understand the subliminal message. I also think this because the drawing ended out that way I had imagined it in my mind. I did not like limitation very much. I felt restricted in what I wanted to make. Limitation also caused some of the more simple drawings and sketches to take longer and be more difficult than they normally are. Experimenting helped me a lot. It helped me figure out a limitation that even though I was limited in what I could do, I could make something really cool. It helped me get the idea of taping sharpies to my fingers and drawing. I really liked the way my artwork turned out. It looks scratchy but that's because i taped sharpies to my fingers which caused me to not be able to fill in areas. Otherwise I liked the drawing because it is Star Wars and who can beat that.
I learned how to use paint on drawings. I learned how to use acrylic and watercolor paint on canvases. I also learned that you can make darker and lighter colors or a completely new blended color. The most successful piece of work was when we combined two landscapes into one. I used acrylic paint with this and it helped make some of the unique colors in it. It was also very successful because I was able to shade the ocean by making layers of a lighter blue as it gets closer. I will definitely be using google images for my future pieces of work. Google images helped give me a variety of images of landscapes to use with some of my projects. It really helped me give some imagery towards my paintings and drawings.
1. Line is made in many ways. You can have multiple lines to make a picture. Lines can be straight, curved, squiggly, slanted and etc. 2. I feel that my final artwork for the line unit is really nice because of the patterns and shapes I incorporated into it. Although I wish that I would have decided to color them in. I liked this unit because it will help me incorporate different lines in my future drawings. I disliked th repetition in the kinds of work we had to do in this unit.
1. I learned that artistic space is one of the most vital and important elements in a drawing. I did not know that it was used everywhere inside a drawing/ sketch.
2. The most helpful exercise was drawing the cubes while using vanishing point because it showed us the element of space and vanishing points in drawings. 3. I feel like I successfully used artistic space with this flower drawing by making it stand out. If I were to color the drawing it would maybe have a better visual of the element of artistic space.
